Answers

  1. How do I access Moodle?

    Access to Moodle requires a Passport York login and password. If you do not have a Passport York account, you can sign up for one at http://www.yorku.ca/computing/students/accounts/passportyork.html

  2. I forgot my username and/or password for Moodle, what do I do?

    Access to Moodle requires a Passport York login and password. If you forgotten your username or password, see: http://www.yorku.ca/computing/students/accounts/forgotppypwd.html

  3. How do I login to Moodle?
    1. Launch your browser and go to http://moodle.yorku.ca.
    2. In the left hand column, click on link for the academic year in which your course is offered .
    3. Locate the yellow login box on the right side of the screen.
    4. Enter your Passport York username and password.
  4. I logged into Moodle but I don't see my course(s)?

    There could be multiple reasons for this:

    • Your course is NOT offered through Moodle.
    • You are NOT officially enrolled in the course(s)/section.
    • Your professor has NOT yet made it available to students.

    Please contact your professor to ensure that you should have access, if you continue to have problems, contact Client Services.

  5. How do I update my profile in Moodle?

    You can edit or update your profile by clicking on your name at the top right corner of the page in Moodle.

    1. Login to Moodle.
    2. Click on your name in the top right corner of the page.
    3. Click on "Edit Profile".
    4. Fill in the required fields if they are not already populated: Email address, City/Town, Country, and Description.
    5. Make any other necessary changes and click on "Update Profile".
  6. How can I change my email address in Moodle?

    You can change your email address by clicking on your name at the top right corner of the page in Moodle.

    1. Login to Moodle.
    2. Click on your name in the top right corner of the page.
    3. Click on "Edit Profile".
    4. Change your email address and click on "Update Profile".
    5. You will then receive a notification from Moodle to confirm your email address. Plese ensure this notification was not filtered to your spam folder, etc. You MUST confirm your email address in order to receive notifications from Moodle.
  7. I don't seem to be receiving some of the information other students say they get in Moodle, what do I do?

    Please ensure that your Moodle profile has an email address that you would like to receive notifications at. By default, Moodle uses your @yorku.ca email address if one is activated. To update your email address, see How can I change my email address in Moodle?

  8. Are there specific browser configurations required for Moodle?

    Please refer to the recommended browser settings for Moodle.
